About

409728_10103106408624031_372548927_nTen years ago I got this idea about writing a romance novel; girl meets boy, boy loses girl, and boy gets girl in the end. After all, isn’t that the way any typical romance novel works? Every night I would sit in front of my computer and come up with different chapters. Finally, after ten years, a graduate degree, and two grown children out and about, I have my romance novel complete and waiting to land on the hands of a publisher. How scary is that?

A few days ago, I went to the book store and bought myself a book called Your First Novel, by Ann Rittenberg and Laura Whitcomb. One of the chapters tells you how you will actually get turned down by a publishing company about twenty million times before your novel gets published. Sooner or later you will find that one publisher that will really like it. For example, Stephenie Meyer sent her book Twilight to several publishing companies until she found one that was interested in her work. My intentions are not to be the next Stephenie Meyer or the next Danielle Steel, but my goal is to enjoy what I do, to believe in my ideas, and express myself.

For those of you who have found love, how wonderful it is to live the passion of it. For those of you who have found love and have lost it, how lucky you are to have experienced it. And for those of you who are still waiting to find it, don’t get discouraged because it will happen.

Romance is a wonderful thing in life, it’s what we all want, need and look for. To have loved once and lost it is better than never to have loved at all …. There is no greater feeling than to be with your partner, glance over at him/her and think, “this is the person that was meant for me” – To my cousin, I’m proud that you have never given up on your dream!! It doesn’t matter how long it takes you to accomplish your goal, so long as you get there!!! Good for you!
